Papercuts is the music of San Francisco songwriter Jason Quever with various guest musicians.  He is currently working on a new album which will be out on Seattle's famous, Sub Pop Records.

His album," You Can Have What You Want" (April 2009 via Gnomonsong/Memphis Industries) is the newest phase in his ongoing pop investigations. Here Quever delves further into epic, dreamy pop using mostly vintage organs, pulsing bass & Kraut-via-Ringo-inspired drum rhythms. Intact from those earlier efforts are Quever's sense of arrangement and drama, as well as his soaring vocals, draped in reverb gauze. The album has contributions from Beach House's Alex Scally (arrangement assistance/various instrumentation) and Graham Hill (Drums) among others.

His second album "Can‘t Go back" (Gnomonsong 2007) recieved much critical praise. "It takes a few seconds of Papercuts‘ second album, Can‘t Go Back, to think that maybe you‘ve stumbled upon something special, a delicate mood piece made to slice through the din and chaos of modern life." 8.3 (Pitchfork). Quever was raised in a commune in Humboldt County, orphaned, moved up and down the US West Coast before calling San Francisco home and starting Papercuts, initially as a 4 track recording project. When not performing with his own band he can often be found recording bands in his recording studio and filling in when needed as a multi-instrumentalist in friends bands.
