SPEED and hardcore are two words that have become synonymous on a global scale. The Sydney, Australia based band have staked claim on the genre through an unwavering ethos built on inclusivity, authenticity and conviction; a chaotic live show that tours nonstop across the globe, and records that have reverberated through the underground and beyond.
Having built a buzz within Sydney since 2019, their GANG CALLED SPEED EP took them international in 2022, spearheaded by the rousing single ‘Not That Nice’. Their debut album ONLY ONE MODE dropped in 2024 and further intensified their heavy-handed take on hardcore, debuting at #1 on the Australian ARIA album charts and winning the ARIA Award for ‘Best Hard Rock/Heavy Metal Release’; and gaining worldwide praise from publications like The Fader, Complex, Revolver and Kerrang.
The album also saw SPEED upscale their relentless global touring schedule. In 2025, SPEED became the first Australian hardcore band in history to perform at the flagship Coachella festival. Further touring took them across Australia, North America, and Europe, playing alongside seasoned heavyweights like Turnstile, Madball, Knocked Loose and Gorilla Biscuits; while also championing upcoming local bands and spotlighting the next generation of hardcore across the globe.
SPEED’s latest project, ALL MY ANGELS, is a three-track EP that reflects on the passing of three close friends in recent years. Those events brought intense heartbreak to their community, but over time, they’ve magnified what SPEED have always held as their central ethos: To love unconditionally, without fear or regret.
Musically, ALL MY ANGELS further explores what SPEED can contribute to modern hardcore beyond breakdowns and sing-a-longs. Influenced by forward-thinking New York hardcore legends like District 9, Crown of Thornz and Fahrenheit 451; the EP sees the band hitting deeper pockets of groove, experimenting with synths and samples, and delivering cathartic hooks that make it their most soul-baring effort.
More than ever, SPEED is a band that’s being guided by their lived experiences, from eye-opening triumphs to the most harrowing losses. In any case, they’ll continue to move forward with love and conviction.
