Dubbed "grunge-gaze" by Brooklyn Vegan, Worlds Worst is an SLC-based band who introduced their loud, energetic-while-melancholic sound with the release of their two EP's in 2020 and 2021. They have since released two LPs via tastemaker labels Smoking Room and Julia's War, earning them recognition as one of Stereogum's Best New Bands.
On their second LP, American Muscle, the band refines their unique approach to the indie, slacker rock sound. The new album, mixed and mastered by Jack Shirley, features standout singles like "Angus," “Gas Hands” and the 2024 track “Motor Mouth.” The band takes new risks and showcases how they have grown as songwriters while maintaining their noisy, ‘90s rock style.
Worlds Worst has toured extensively across the US, playing with bands like Dinosaur Jr, Trauma Ray, Wavves, Fiddlehead, They Are Gutting A Body Of Water, and more. They have headlined Philly's Julia's War Fest, performed at SLC's Kilby Block Party, played the emo-revival Best Friends Forever Festival in Las Vegas, and Boise’s Treefort Fest.
