After selling out their St. Stephen in the Field's record release show behind end-of-year list-maker SIT & GRIN, Slash Need quietly announced a second show to take place the night before on November 14 at Toronto's West End fledgling punk venue Toronto Style, packing the bar's performance area with a who's who of local obsessives. Stage-warmed by the incisive and noisy Non-Op, the duo of singer Dusty Lee and producer Alex Low transformed the fog machine-engulfed Bloor West dive into a Berlin sex club operated by demons, with backup dancers uniting with dance floor freaks as strobe lights disoriented bodies writhing at the threshold. For the few who bore witness to the history being made, it was an unforgettable night. For those who missed out, thankfully Toronto Style meticulously documented the show via multiple grid posts.
