Ground Control Touring Welcomes Colleen

It is with great pleasure that we announce Colleen as the latest addition to the Ground Control Touring roster!

Colleen is the nom de plume of French musician Cécile Schott, who over the course of five albums has consistently reinvented herself by taking acoustic instruments out of their usual context and pushing the boundaries of their playability. Colleen will focus on a sound that has captured her imagination (record samples, music boxes, baroque instruments) and use it to build a modern album. Her many accolades, including end-of-year placements for publications such as NPR and The New York Times, all praise her “deliberate” and “mesmerizing” performance that has captured fans across the globe. Resident Advisor’s Andrew Ryce states, “With a whole band’s worth of equipment laid out in front of her, it was hard not to be impressed by French artist Colleen in terms of her setup alone. But the way she used those instruments, from dulcet strings to drums to melodica, was more than just the sum of its parts…When she sang, she sounded unnervingly perfect, her voice echoing through the hall.”
