Introducing our newest signing Snail Mail

Introducing our newest signing Snail Mail

Posted 02/27/2017

We’re delighted to announce Snail Mail from Baltimore, Maryland as the newest addition to the Ground Control Touring roster.

Snail Mail is the solo project of 17 year old Lindsey Jordan. In July of 2016, she released her debut EP “Habit” on DC punks Priests’ label Sister Polygon Records. In their Best New Track review of the opening cut “Thinning”, Pitchfork describes Jordan as possessing a voice that “sounds like it’s coming from a distance, perfect for a song with lines about wanting to lie face down on the floor for a whole year and the triumph of wasting time”.

While she may be young in years, Jordan has a sense of maturity as a songwriter that many artists work for decades to discover. In addition to her standout vocal and lyrical abilities, Jordan is a classically trained guitarist of twelve years and experiments often with various guitar tunings and techniques in order to generate Snail Mail’s unique sound.

The band just finished up a short tour with Priests, winning over entire rooms with their catchy lo-fi pop creations. Keep an eye on Snail Mail’s artist page for more tour dates and news.
